Almost every week in the class you will be assigned 10 artists to learn about.
Look at visual examples of each of the artists assigned each week. Google images is a good place to start, but searching for artist websites, going to Art 21’s website, or searching through museum websites are all very good resources.
You’ll need to pick one image you think is particularly interesting, and post it on your blog with your opinions, thoughts or interpretations of the photograph in a short paragraph.
Include the following information: Artist Name. Title of Work. Date of Image. Brief description of image. Content in image, or conceptual framework for the artist creating the work.
What is compelling about the composition of the image? What is compelling about the subject matter of the image? What is the image trying to say?
You will be expected to read through some of your classmate’s responses on their own blogs, and respond to at least two students writings for each group of artists.
